Integrating Scheduling and Competency

To that end, we’ll be showcasing some current and new features in the months to come. In this second installment of our Feature Spotlights, we will be highlighting Integrating the Scheduling and Competency modules.

Managing a workforce is a challenge, whether it be in the Laboratory, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Radiology departments, or any other highly-skilled group. Assuring that each staff member has completed all required assessments, and is scheduled to meet the needs of the department, is a key component in assuring that your facilities’ patients are getting appropriate care. Adding multiple locations (hospitals, clinics, outreach locations) into the mix only serves to increase the complexity. Automating this process - so that only those individuals specifically assessed as competent in a given area are scheduled for that area – is the answer that many healthcare managers are looking for.

Our Approach:

We’ve developed our approach to integration based on the needs of our clients. Some administrators use our Scheduling solution only, and others use our Competency product solely. Still other users are familiar with both products. Regardless of your primary area of expertise, we have a way for you to begin integrating the two products:

The process is straightforward, but if you need a hand, our Support staff are available to assist.

Integrating the Scheduling and Competency modules has several practical benefits. It can be very helpful when inspection or audit time comes, as it allows supervisors to quickly determine if someone was scheduled in an area for which they were not qualified. Automating this process allows supervisors and managers to make better use of their time by uncovering current deficiencies and preventing future competency assessment problems from developing at all.
